As mentioned in the other post with jorgen, rewriting the MBR with Windows 2000/XP's fixmbr doesn't cause any problems, unless BitLocker is enabled. Rewritting the MBR with fdisk /mbr causes a boot failure, Vista does not tolerate a change in the disk signature. John.
